Unemployment in North Dorset

Although the country is technically out of recession, unemployment in North Dorset is still 30% higher than it was 12 months ago. What’s more about a quarter of our local jobseekers are between the ages of 18 and 25.

Labour government has actually closed Job Centres across Dorset at a time when we need them most urgently. As a consequence Bob Walter has supported the creation of local Job Clubs in Shaftesbury and Sturminster Newton. Bob led the campaign to keep Blandford Camp open and has defended our local post offices against closure proposals. He has worked closely with the local brewery to secure the future of many of our village pubs.
